Indicates the sustained torsional moment index (It). You can use this index value (along with the torsional moment due to sustained loads) to determine the amount of stress that is due to sustained torsional moment.

Specify this value for any point in the piping system by selecting the SIFs & Tees check box on the Classic Piping Input dialog box. Type the node number to which the stress index applies. Then, specify the Torsion Index (It) value on the SIFs/Tees tab.

If you do not specify a value in the Torsion Index (It) box, CAESAR II sets the value to 1.0 by default.

For more information on stress intensification factors (SIFs) in CAESAR II, see Stress Intensification Factors Details.
