Part Properties

This symbol is used to represent struts and snubbers. The Strut_A shapes are divided into the following.

  • Five graphic shapes: Round, Oval, Square, Rectangular, Hexagonal shapes are possible

  • One rod end shape: Plain, Eye, One Spade, Two Spades, Bolt, Nut (Female) end shapes are possible

  • One side shape: Round, Oval, Square, Rectangular, Hexagonal shapes are possible

Most of the struts and snubbers also require a separate Strut_B end part to allow rotation of the two ends, especially for eye or lug shaped ends.

  • The graphics are built up by defining the various shapes while the port locations are determined only from the Length property. Enter the Length property correctly in the workbook to determine the port correctly. In some cases, for example if the second end is a female threaded hole, the port will not be coincident with the end of the shapes.

  • Millimeters (mm) is the default unit. Use "in" at the end of dimensional values to specify inches. Ports are shown as points highlighted in red.
