Structural Manufacturing symbols provide the geometric representation of a Structural Manufacturing object placed in the model.

Symbols

Symbols are delivered in several forms:

  • 2D symbol files for bevels, margin, part direction, features, and shrinkage. The symbols are delivered in the [Reference Data Folder]\SharedContent\StructManufacturing\SMS_SCHEMA\RadSymbols folder.

The SMS_SCHEMA folder also has subfolders for Part Monitor support information, including document templates.

  • 2D symbol files for tabs. The symbols are delivered in the [Reference Data Folder]\SharedContent\StructManufacturing\MfgPlate\Tab folder.

  • Visual Basic projects that do not create symbols, but call symbols for reports and other Structural Manufacturing smart occurrences.

You can create your own custom symbols using the 2D Symbols utility that is delivered with the software.

Labels

You can customize tooltip labels for manufacturing parts. The labels are delivered within the [Reference Data Folder]\SharedContent\Labels\Types of Labels\StructManufacturing\Tooltips folder.

Reports

You can customize Structural Manufacturing reports. The reports are delivered within the [Reference Data Folder]\SharedContent\Reports\Types of Reports\StructManufacturing folder.

Output XML

XML schemas format output data generated for manufacturing plates and profiles. The XML schema files are delivered to the [Reference Data Folder]\SharedContent\Xml\StructManufacturing\Doc folder. Schemas are delivered for plates, profiles, and nesting.

Member Cross-Section Symbols

Members (created in the Structure task) use a ProductionPhysical symbol representation to support unfolding of the members in the Part Monitor and member sketches. When the symbol does not have a ProductionPhysical representation, the SimplePhysical representation is used. The symbols are delivered in the [Reference Data Folder]\SharedContent\CrossSections folder. For more information, see Cross-Section Symbol Representations in the 2D Symbols User's Guide.
