After the batch system is installed and running, you should create a batch queue on the local system using the instructions provided in this help document. After the queue is created, configured, enabled and started, batch jobs can be submitted using either the Batch Manager Interface or the qsub command line utility.

In order to perform work with the batch system, the user (or application) submits a Batch Job. Users can also specify how often the job should be run, the environment of the job, its priority, starting time, description, where the output should be placed, auxiliary files, and many other job attributes. When a job is successfully submitted, it is assigned a unique job-id. The job-id can be used to reference the job. No two jobs will have the same job-id.
