With a Search Job, you can locate variable attributes within the bill of materials (stored in the database table m_list_node_values) and overwrite them with a new value, using Show Result or Replace. You can also edit certain fixed attributes for a bill of materials position (from the m_list_pos table).

Open B.20.01 Edit BOM.

Select the BOM node that marks the start of processing.

Click Search/Replace .

You can either select an existing search job or define a new one. Because Search Job management is user-specific; you can only edit your own jobs, that is, the jobs you have created. The quickest way to set up a new job is to copy a Master Job and then re-adjust the processing parameters. To create a Master Job, proceed with the next steps.

Type the job name in the Name field.

Optionally, type the job description in the Short Desc and Description fields.

Select the Master check box.

Select a where condition from the LOV in the Where Condition field.

To define where the job should search, select With Structure, With Position, or With Assemblies.

In the List Search Replace Attrs block, define the attributes which are to be considered by the job as follows:

Type a sequence number in the Order Seq field.

Select the attribute from the LOV in the Name field.

Type the replace value in the New Value field.

Select the Replace check box if the job should replace the attribute value.

Click Save to save the Master Job.
A Master Job cannot be initiated for processing.

To create a normal Search job from the Master job, click Duplicate Job.
