Smart Materials/Smart Reference Data Version
2020 (10.0)

Data in the DAT file is imported and stored in a table. Then, Smart Materials processes the data. Error and log files that contain statistics and error messages for both steps are created.

Split tag import allows you to import split tags for spools. The prerequisite for the import is that you have created at least two detail tags for an item shipment on the P.70.72 Expediting Details screen by clicking the 'Split Tag' button. Create the detail tags on the item shipment level and ensure that the ZP_SP_POLI project default is set to 'N'.

The job will then try to find the item shipments of the given order/order line item using only the routing method and the forecasted delivery date. In the case of basic expediting, the forecasted delivery date is given by the Prom Contract field. If such an item shipment can be found, it will be updated. Otherwise, an additional detail tag will be created for that routing method and forecasted delivery date.

This mechanism requires that at least one detail tag exists that has the routing method and the forecasted delivery date provided in the import file.

  • If an item shipment/detail tag exists, the item shipment quantity, the comment, and the layout short can be updated. After an MCS number has been assigned to an item shipment, the update of the quantity is no longer possible, but additional detail tags can still be loaded (only applicable for extended expediting).

  • If a new detail tag is created, the quantity, comment, and layout short are populated as supplied by the import file.

To view the layout short field, double-click on the Tag Number field of an item shipment on the P.70.72 screen. The B.20.01.22 Tag Description screen appears. Depending on how you have programmed the ident_desc CIP procedure, you can also see this description in the Ident Short Description field on the P.70.72 screen.

The layout short field will be populated with the data of the case number, part number, and drawing number fields. The values of these fields will be separated by commas.

If, for example, the import file contains the following line:

HOME;PO-100;PO;0;1;1;1;1;Comment 1;Part A;Drawing A;10;1;RM-100;24-JAN-2003

then the new/updated layout short will look like the following:

1, Part A, Drawing A

For all item shipments updated or created by this type of OPI job, the Actual indicator on the P.70.72 screen is set.
