The IRC Required indicator shows whether an IRC is required for the item shipment. The default of this check box is given by the setting of project default ZP_IRC_REQ. If this indicator is set, you can only assign a release note to an item shipment if you have assigned an IRC. Otherwise, an IRC is not required and a release note can be created immediately.

The IRC Number field shows the name/number of the inspection release certificate (IRC). Whether an IRC is mandatory for an item or not is determined by the IRC Required check box. Once an item shipment has been placed on a release note, you cannot delete or change the MCS number, MCS quantity, IRC number, the IRC quantity, or weight. All items on an IRC must belong to the same order. That is, only IRCs of the order shown in the first block are available. You cannot select an IRC of a different order.

If you want to place an item shipment on a different IRC, you can enter a different IRC in this field, but this IRC must already exist. Alternatively, you must do this in two steps. In the first step, you delete the entry in the IRC Number field. In the second step, you open the IRC tab, create the new IRC, and then assign the item shipment to this new IRC.

If a destination within the routing method assigned to the item shipment is marked as 'Inspection' on P.10.53, the actual inspection date of the IRC is copied over as the actual date for this destination when assigning an IRC. This date is overwritten if a different IRC is assigned. It is not cleared if an IRC is deleted. To see the heat numbers of the item shipments of an IRC, you can double-click in this field. The software opens the Heat Numbers tab with query context 'IRC'.

The IRC Date field shows the date of the IRC.

The IRC Quantity field shows the quantity of the item shipment on the IRC. Whether this quantity can be greater than the quantity of the item shipment itself or not depends on the setting of project default ZP_IRC_INC. If the project default is not set or is set to 0 (zero), the item shipment quantity is the highest allowed value. If the project default is set to a value greater than 0 (zero) the highest allowed value is given by the following formula:

Item ship quantity * ((100 + ZP_IRC_INC) / 100)

For example, if ZP_IRC_INC is set to 50, you can increase the IRC quantity up to 150% of the current item shipment quantity. If the IRC quantity is greater than the current MCS/item shipment quantity, the IRC quantity is copied over as the new item shipment quantity. If the quantity on an IRC is less than the MCS/item shipment quantity, a new item shipment is automatically created. The quantity of this new item shipment is the quantity of the old item shipment reduced by the quantity of the IRC. This new item shipment can then, later on, be placed on a different IRC. At the same time, the quantity of the old item shipment is reduced to the value of the IRC.

The MCS number (if existing) is copied over from the old to the newly created item shipment whereas the IRC number, outstanding work list, and non conformity report are reset. Actual and forecasted expediting dates are not copied over either. A new forecasted delivery date for the new item shipment must be entered in the Forecasted Delivery Date field. By default, the forecasted delivery date of the actual item shipment is placed in this field.

Attributes that are attached to the old item shipment are also copied to the new item shipment.

Generally, the item shipment line item number of the new item shipment is the highest one available for the corresponding order line item increased by 1, and the sub line item number is set to 1. Only for sub items of a tagged master item the item shipment line item number is copied over and the sub line item number is increased by 1 instead.

The IRC Weight field shows the weight of the item shipment for a quantity of 1 on the IRC.

If an MCS has been assigned to an item shipment, the weight on the MCS is copied over by default when assigning an IRC to the item shipment. If an MCS does not exist, the item shipment weight is used instead.

The Total IRC Weight field shows the total IRC weight of the item shipment, calculated as the IRC quantity * IRC weight per unit.
