To test the availability of the webservice, open a browser from the database server machine and enter the hostname where your webservice is installed. Depending on the configuration of the IIS, it will show a welcome page as displayed below.
If it does not show anything or if it returns an error, contact your network administrator.
Enter the URL of the license web service in the browser (replace <myWebservice> with your host name and <vers> with the installed Smart Materials version, for example 2020):
http://<myWebservice>/SmartMaterialsLicenseWebservice<vers>/SmartLicensingService/service/home
You should get a small xml document containing two cryptic strings:
