I-Sketch is the name of a previous version of Intergraph Smart Isometrics. Whereas a Smart Isometrics specification is a single database, an I-Sketch specification consists of several text files. For example, the CS150 specification consists of not one file but several files:
-
CS150.cat
-
CS150.cif
-
CS150.fdn
-
CS150.spn
-
CS150.con
-
CS150.blt
-
CS150.cho
If you have existing specifications that you created to use with I-Sketch, you can quickly import them into Material Editor so that they can be used with Smart Isometrics.
To convert other formats, such as PDS and PDMS, you must use Intergraph I-Convert. For more information, see the I-Convert User's Guide. This document is available using the Help > Printable Guides command.
-
Click File > Import I-Sketch Specification or Catalog.
The Import dialog box displays.
-
In the dialog box, click Browse to locate the appropriate I-Sketch file.
The software locates and displays the item code and description text maps.
-
Select the required item code and description text maps.
-
Click Import.
The software creates the database, places it in the same folder as the I-Sketch database, and gives it the same file name with an .mdb extension.
-
Progress bars display the progress of the conversion. Depending on the size of the I-Sketch file, the import process can take several minutes.
-
When the import process completes, the software prompts you about opening the database. Select Yes to open, select No to return to the Material Editor window.
