In the Material Builder tree view, expand the item group that contains the component type to add. For example, expand the Valves node to add a valve.

Select the type of component. For example, select Gate Valve.
Item groups and component types that are empty display in the tree view with the
icon. Item groups that are populated display with the 
icon.
The software populates the main data area to display the selected item group and component type. In the example below, the main data area displays Valves: Gate Valve.
