Allows you to manually enter start, end, and duration time values for one or more Display Set animations.

If you have Display Set animations set up in a relationship group, any changes cause the Animation Sequencer to dynamically update the related Display Set animations. For example, when you change the start date of a Display Set, the Animation Sequencer dynamically updates and changes any related or dependent Display Set animations. For more information, see Define Display Set Animation Dependencies.

Edit Paths Options

Start date - Defines the start date and time.

End date - Defines the date the animation finishes.

Duration (Days or HH:MM:SS) - Defines the complete path time interval in Days:Hours:Minutes:Seconds. The time format display is based on your local settings.

Edit Paths

  1. Create your animations, and then click Animation > Sequencer (ALT + Q).

  2. In the View pane (Tree View), select one or more Display Set animations. Make sure that the selected animation paths are from the same relationship group and that there are no independent or unrelated animations paths selected.

  3. Right-click to open a shortcut menu, and then click Edit Paths. The following example figure shows multiple display sets being selected.

The Animation Sequencer opens the Edit Paths dialog box.

When you select multiple paths, the earliest Start date and the latest End date display. The Duration shows the time between the earliest and latest dates.

Change to a Specific Start Date:

  4. To change one or more animation paths to a new start time without changing the duration:

    1. Click Start date and clear the End date and Duration options.

    2. Type in or browse to the required Start date. You cannot enter a start date that is later than the defined end date.

    3. Click Apply.

The software moves the selected paths to the new start time and preserves the original duration. If you select animation paths that are in a relationship group, the software also moves all paths that are in that group:

    • For animations that are in a serial relationship group, the software moves the relationship group so that the earliest path in the group starts at the new time and preserves the original duration of the relationship.

    • For animations in a parallel relationship group, the software moves all paths in the relationship group to the specified start date.

Change to a Specific End Date:

  5. To change one or more animation paths to a new end date without changing the duration:

    1. Click End date and clear the Start date and Duration options.

    2. Type in or browse to the required End date. You cannot enter an end date that is earlier than the defined start date.

    3. Click Apply.

The software moves the selected paths to the new end time and preserves the original duration. If you select animation paths that are in a relationship group, the software also moves paths that are in that group:

    • For animations that are in a serial relationship group, the software moves the relationship group so that the latest path ends at the new time and preserves the original duration.

    • For animations in a parallel relationship group, the software moves all paths in the relationship group to end at the new end date.

Change to Specific Start and End Dates:

  6. To change one or more animation paths to new start and end dates that change their duration:

    1. Click Start date and End date, and then type in or browse to the required dates.

The software automatically calculates the duration.

      -OR-

Click only the Duration option and set the duration time in days or in hours/minutes/seconds.

The software automatically calculates the end date based on the original start date and edited duration time.

    2. Click Apply.

The software resizes the selected animation paths to the new start time and end time. If you select animation paths that are in a relationship group, the software also moves and resizes paths that are in that group:

    • For a serial relationship group, the software resizes the earliest and latest paths in the group so that the earliest path starts at the new start date and the latest path ends at the new end date.

    • For a parallel relationship group, the software resizes all paths to the new start and end dates.

Display Set animations containing just one path point cannot be resized. They can only be moved to a specific start or end date.
