After you have completed the preliminary restore tasks, you can start restoring your backed-up database by reading the new dump file back into your Smart Instrumentation database.

  1. Copy the new dump file from the source database to the target server.

  2. Import the database from the dump file. At the operating system command prompt, type:

    IMPDP SYSTEM/Oracle@<Oracle instance alias> FULL=Y DUMPFILE=DATA PUMP DIR: =<export file> LOGFILE= LOG=<log file full filepath >
