When working with an off-site plant (an engineering procurement and construction company or owner operator) in a disconnected mode, prior to importing the engineering data received from an off-site plant, it is necessary to synchronize the reference data. You perform this synchronization by exchanging reference data with the off-site plant. This is done by creating a package file which you send to an off-site plant for import. The same procedure can also be performed by the off-site plant administrator, who can create a package file and send it back so that the reference data created by the off-site plant can be synchronized with the owner operator.

When preparing a package file for a satellite or host, you can do the following:

  • Connect to the source plant or project which contains the reference data that you want to include in the package.

  • Define the scope of the reference data that you want to include in the package. If a reference item has been used in the current plant, the software marks this reference item as mandatory and it is recommended that you include it in the package.

  • Generate an Excel report that lists all the reference items that you have selected for the package.

  • Create a package file that you can send to an off-site pant where this package can be opened, examined, and whose content can be imported into the target database.

  • Open an existing package and change the selections if needed.

After receiving a package file from a host or satellite, you can do the following:

  • View the reference items that have been included in the current package file.

  • Specify which reference data you want to import from the package.

The software indicates whether a reference item is new or whether it already exists in your project.

  • Generate an Excel report that lists all the reference items that you have selected from the package.

  • Import the selected items into your database.

In the current software version, it is only possible to import new items. Updating existing items will be possible at a later stage.
