  1. Select Edit > Add Folder.

  2. Select the new folder, and then select Edit > Add Rule to open the Rule Properties Dialog.

  3. Enter a name and a description for the new rule.

  4. In the Priority box, select a priority value. You can define a value from 1 to 100. One is the lowest priority, 100 the highest.

  5. On the Items Tab, define Item 1 by selecting the Browse button next to Item 1.

  6. On the Select Item 1 dialog, select Catalog Item.

  7. In the Item selection Tree view, select a gate valve, and then select OK.

  8. Set the connect point type for Item 1 (Piping Point).

  9. Set the placement method (Snap-on).

  10. Select Properties next to Placement method for Item 1.

  11. On the Snap-On Placement Properties Dialog, set the gap distance, and select OK.

  12. Define Item 2 by selecting the Browse button next to Item 2.

  13. On the Select Item 2 dialog, select Catalog item.

  14. In the Item selection Tree view, select Nozzles and then select OK.

  15. Set the connect point type for Item 2 (Piping Point). For this example, you do not need to define a placement method for Item 2.

  16. On the Consistency Tab, set Compare to "=".

  17. Set Status option to Warning.

  18. Set Severity level to 1.

  19. Set Copy to "==>" and select OK. Values are copied only if the destination values are Null.

  20. Select File > Save to write the changes to the rule base.
