By adding an axis, you can convert a 2D skew to a 3D skew.

  1. Create a sketch similar to the example below.

  2. Right-click a skew component, and then select Add > <Axis direction>.

    SHARED Tip The contents of the Add sub-menu depend on the skew direction. In the example above, the Axis Order is East-North (as shown in the Properties window), and the choices in the Add sub-menu are Up and Down.

  3. Select the axis to add. For example, click Up.

    The software adds the selected axis (East-North-Up), converting the original 2D skew to a 3D skew.

  • You must re-dimension the skew axis. For more information about dimensioning skewed components, see Dimension a 3D skew.

  • You can add the axis at the other side of the skew by changing the skew axis order before dimensioning.
