Allows you to choose a SmartPlant Markup Plus viewer or an external application to display files of a particular type. You may access this dialog box by clicking the Set Viewer button on the File Type Associations dialog box (or the File Type Associations tab of the Options dialog box).

Viewer type - Select the SmartPlant Markup Plus viewer you want to use to open files of the selected type, or select Other viewer to choose an external viewing application.

  • Default - Indicates that SmartPlant Markup Plus will be used to view files of the selected type and that the application's internal logic will select the appropriate viewer.

  • Other viewer - If you have associated this file type with an external application, that application is listed here. If you have made no association or associated the file type with SmartPlant Markup Plus, then the standard application for the selected file type appears here.

Choose the program you want to use - Select a software application from this list of registered programs. Selecting an item from this list automatically populates the Other program field. This list is active only when you select Other viewer from the Viewer Type list.

Other program - Enter the name and location of the program in which the selected types of files will be opened. You can search for an application by clicking the Browse button.

Command-line parameters - Enter any particular values that will pass information to the selected program and indicate how the files of this type should be opened. The arguments that are available vary by program.

File name prefix - Use this field for optional parameters instead of, or in addition to, the Command-line parameters edit box when you choose an application that does not allow spaces between the command-line parameters and file name. This parameter is attached as a prefix to the file name without any spaces as shown below:

[ApplicationName] [OptionalParameters] [FileNamePrefix][FileName]
