Click Markup > Create Symbol.
This option is available only if you have an active markup layer that contains one
or more elements.

Click near one corner of the element from which you want to create a symbol.

Holding down the left mouse button, draw a box around the element.

In the Create Symbol dialog box that appears, provide a brief description for the symbol in the Description field.

Click the Browse button and find the symbol file in which the new symbol should be saved.

If a symbol contains a text field, the text can be edited by double-clicking in the text field.

When drawing a box around the items that will compose the new symbol, be sure to provide extra space between the drawn items and the sides of the box. If pieces of the symbol are missing from the illustration in the Create Symbol dialog box, return to the drawing, and draw a larger box around the image.
