Click View > 2D Measure

Click on the first of the two points.

Click on the second of the two points.

After you select the first point, the distance between that point and the cursor's current location appears beside the cursor in the window. Once you select a second point, this value disappears, and the distance between the two selected points appears in the status bar at the bottom of the window.

The units in which the distance is displayed is determined by the settings in the file.
