The StructEquipFoundations.xls workbook defines the equipment foundations assemblies that you want to add to your catalog and hence to your model. Equipment foundations transfer loads from equipment to supports. To do this, the equipment foundation assembly reads the foundation port information defined on the equipment symbol to orient and size the foundation. The distance between the equipment foundation port and the supporting object defines the equipment foundation height.

When creating your equipment foundations, there are custom attributes and required attributes. You can add your custom attributes using the Custom Interfaces Sheet sheet (described in the Reference Data Guide). For your custom attributes, you can have the software provide catalog lookups in the graphical interface for an attribute value. For example, if you have a custom attribute for the material, add the suffix "_SPSMaterial" to the attribute name, for example, Material_SPSMaterial. When the user selects the attribute in the equipment foundation properties dialog box, the software displays the materials defined in the catalog for the user to select from. Four lookups are supported; replace XXX below with your attribute name:

  • XXX_SPSSectionName - Displays section names available in the catalog.

  • XXX_SPSSectionRefStandard - Displays section reference standards available in the catalog.

  • XXX_SPSMaterial - Displays materials available in the catalog.

  • XXX_SPSGrade - Displays material grades available in the catalog.

The required attributes used by ISPSEquipFndInputCriteria interface must be defined for each equipment foundation assembly that you define in the workbook. The required attributes are:

Name

Type a part name for the equipment foundation. The name must be unique across the entire catalog.

Definition

Type the name of the macro that defines the equipment foundation.

Symbol Definition

Type the name of the macro to use to construct the equipment foundation. If you do not enter a value here, the symbol definition defined at the top of the sheet under Definition is used.

Symbol Icon

Enter the graphic to use when displaying a preview of the part in the Catalog task. If you do not enter a value here, the symbol icon defined at the top of the sheet under Definition is used.

Number Supported

Specifies the number of supported inputs. Enter 0..1 for none or one input, 1..n for at least one or more inputs, or specify the number of inputs explicitly by entering the number 1, 2, 3, and so forth.

Supported Filter Prog ID

Specifies a string for custom filtering supported objects.
