The preparation of project data involves extracting the necessary data and then creating a suitable folder structure on the local computer in which to house the extracted data. The techniques that you use for data extraction depend on the type of host plant design system: PDS, PDMS, AutoPlant, or CADWorx Pipe. In addition to translating material data from a third party, you can use I-Convert to create material data from Isogen input files (IDF and PCF) and to translate Neutral data files.
The front-end tasks required for preparing your project data can be time-consuming. However, after you complete these initial tasks, using I-Convert to create catalogs and specifications from other supported piping data input becomes a relatively simple "push button" process that typically takes only a few minutes to complete.
