The following changes have been made to the Planning task:

Hot Fix and Service Pack Updates

• The new Blocks with Invalid Parent option on the Repair Planning Objects dialog enables you to repair blocks that have no hierarchical parent or that have an invalid parent. (P1 CP:376632)

• The new Delay Assignment option reduces the time it takes to perform split, edit cutting surface, and merge operations on physical blocks that have unassigned parts. For more information, see Split Block Ribbon, Edit Cutting Surface Ribbon, and Merge Ribbon. (P2 CP:343645)

• The Generate Planning Joints Dialog has replaced the Generate Planning Joints Ribbon. You can use the dialog to: (P2 CP:395414)

  • Generate, update, and delete planning joints in a selected assembly, block, or assembly blocks.

  • Generate planning joints for All, Internal, Peripheral, or Common.

  • Schedule batch jobs.

• Added the option to move common parts to the Common Part Explorer. For more information, see Common Part Explorer and Move common parts. (P2 CP:338008)

• Added the Common Part Definition to the Common Part Manager ribbon bar. This option allows you to modify the common part definition. For more information, see Modify common part manager. (P2 CP:323777)

• The Common Part Explorer now displays both common parts and standard parts. Previously, only common parts were displayed. For more information, see Common Part Explorer. (P2 CP:323777)

• Added the Standard tab to the Edit Rule Settings dialog box. For more information, see Standard Tab (Edit Rule Settings Dialog Box). (P2 CP:323777)

• The new Edit Planning Joint Folder Ribbon enables you to move planning joint folders to a different assembly or root folder. See also Move a planning joint folder to a different assembly or root folder. (P2 CP:378490)

Version 2016 (11.0)

• The Import Assembly Data from Excel command creates or deletes assembly hierarchies or assigns parts to an assembly hierarchy from a Microsoft Excel spreadsheet. For more information, see Import Assembly Data from Excel. (P2 CP:181796)

• Added the Submit Batch Job Command to run batch processes using the Intergraph Batch Services framework. (P2 CP:273093, P2 CP:178040)

• A new locate filter, Construction Graphics is available. For more information, see Selecting Planning Objects. (P2 CP:271166)

• The Sequence tab is removed from the Block Properties and Assembly Properties dialog boxes. A new command, Sequence Form, allows you to create, review, and modify the assembly sequence. For more information, see Sequence. (P2 CP:281691)

• Updated the Weld Inclination, Weld Rotation, and Weld Position descriptions on the Planning Joint Properties dialog box. For more information, see General Tab (Planning Joint Properties Dialog). (P2 CP:245039 and P2 CP:285193)

• Updated the Common Part rule settings documentation to better explain the Check Display Text options. For more information, see Comparison Tab (Edit Rule Settings Dialog). (P2 CP:288158)

• The Generate Planning Joints command contains new actions and rules. Additional properties are available for planning joints. For more information, see Generate Planning Joints and General Tab (Planning Joint Properties Dialog). (P3 CP:261092)

• A new option, Task List, has been added to the Manufacturability Checking Settings dialog box. For more information, see Check Manufacturability. (P3 CP:288433)

• You can define base plane rotation and update relationships from the New (Block) Assembly command ribbon. For more information, see New (Block) Assembly. (P3 CP:280175)

• You can drag planning joints to different planning joint group folders and assemblies. Custom folders are also available. For more information, see Generate Planning Joints. (P3 CP:280175)

• The Show Assembly Sequence ribbon contains new commands for displaying weight, range, and assembly sequence properties. For more information, see Show Assembly Sequence. (P3 CP:289130)
