You use this procedure to create a link that deletes data in Smart Electrical. You can use data deletion links to delete specific data from Smart Electrical database or delete items that you imported using a data link.

Select File > New > Data Deletion Link .

In the Data Deletion Link Wizard, on the Define the Link Name and Import Mode page, under Link, type the link name.

Under Description, type a brief description of the link if needed.

Under Import mode, accept the displayed default settings or change them if needed. See Set Import Options.

Select Next.

On the Source and Target Definition page, under Source, from the Source table list, select a source table.

Select Use query and then select the required query from the list. Select New query if you need to define a new query.

Select Data Source to preview and edit the contents of the source table or tables defined in a query. You cannot edit the data if you are previewing tables defined in a query.

Select Filter to define a filter condition if you want to include only specific source items from the selected table or tables defined in a query. You can use the following wildcard characters in your filter: % - any combination of characters. _ (underscore) - any single character

From the Target item type list, select the required target item type. You can select View Data to preview the contents of the target item type list.

Select Next.

On the Map the Fields of the Source Table and Target Item Type Properties page, select a source field and drag it to a target item type property.
Select Expand to view the page in full screen mode. Select Expand again, to continue and return the page to normal-size mode. You can only continue to the next page when the page is in normal-size mode.

To determine the expression that the software will display after importing the data, right-click the mapped value in the Source Field box in the Target pane and then select Expression Builder, Expression UOM, or Get Value From List depending on the type of the selected field. Build the expression as needed.

Select the Key check box to set the field uniqueness.
Defining a field as unique ensures that Import Manager checks that the contents of the imported data in this field is unique. Import Manager will insert or update the data according to the import mode settings. You can define a combination of field uniqueness by selecting the Key check box next to several target fields. However, you must set at least one field as unique.

Select Next.

On the Completing the Data Link Wizard page, examine the data link summary information and select Finish to create the link.
