Loads the Cyclone (ModelSpace View) point cloud data into Smart 3D.

  1. Click Database > New > Point Cloud Model Reference to open the Point Cloud Model Reference dialog box.

  2. Select LeicaGeosystem Inc. and click Register to open the Point Cloud Properties dialog box.

  3. Select Cyclone as the model type from the Point Cloud drop-down list.

  4. Click Browse in the Point Cloud Source section to open the Open Cyclone CORE ModelSpace View dialog box.

In the Open Cyclone CORE ModelSpace View dialog, the Coordinates Systems in Point Source list enables you to use the point cloud coordinates systems available on the project. The software reflects the selected coordinate system values in the point cloud model transformation fields on the Point Cloud Properties dialog. The Coordinate Systems in Viewport, Distance Units, and Number of units per meter options are in disabled mode. Hence you cannot use these options while referencing the point cloud models.

  5. Browse to and select the ModelSpace View to register, and then click Open. If no ModelSpace views are already configured, click Configure. For more information, see Configure databases.

The software loads the selected ModelSpace view into the Point Source section of the Open Cyclone CORE ModelSpace View dialog box.

  6. Click OK.

  • The point clouds loaded by CloudWorx are updated automatically to reflect any changes made in Cyclone to the point cloud in the source ModelSpace.

  • If you do not want the point cloud that is loaded in CloudWorx to reflect any changes made to the Cyclone database, create a unique ModelSpace and reserve it for CloudWorx use.

  • All the cloud points and other related data, including the clippings are loaded into Smart 3D. Any changes to the Smart 3D user coordinate systems list are not saved back to the Cyclone database when CloudWorx closes the ModelSpace View.

  • Use Fit to view the entire model, or use the other view manipulation commands to view only specific parts of the model.
