Origin refers to the location of the related engineering requisition originator; it normally represents companies internal or geographical branch/office name. This origin must be assigned to the project default ZX_ORIGIN, preferably on the discipline level. This value is assigned as default to each new engineering requisition, either when running an MTO job or when creating the requisition manually on the Requisitions page. Origin is a key component of the engineering requisition, and is used to prevent conflicts with identical engineering requisitions (names) sent from different branches/offices to a centralized procurement department. The project default ZX_ORIGIN and origin are used in Agreements, Tagged Items Planning, Requisitions Planning, and Budget Results.

  1. From the Home page, select Administration > Global Setup > Materials Setup > Origins.

  2. Click Add Row.

  3. Enter origin, short description, and description and then click Save.
