For unit to unit conversion, rules must be defined. For example, if an agreement has items or other costs with different currencies assigned, a conversion rule is needed to calculate the total cost of the agreement.

The unit to unit conversion rules are defined on the A.10.13 Unit to Unit screen.

Select the unit to be converted from the LOV in the Unit from field, and the converted unit from the LOV in the Unit to field. Units are defined on A.10.12; for more information, see Units of Measure. The logged in project is automatically inserted in the Project field. This means that the conversion rule is valid for the project entered in the Project field only.

SHARED Tip It is recommended to define common conversion rules in the product group to make them available to all underlying projects and to avoid defining these rules in all projects again.

You can enter a conversion factor in the Factor field and two constant values to be added in the Addend1 and Addend2 fields.

The units are converted in the following way:

UNIT_TO = (UNIT_FROM + ADDEND1) * FACTOR + ADDEND2

For example, in a conversion from Degree Celsius to Degree Fahrenheit, Addend1 is 0 (zero), Factor is 1.8, and Addend2 is 32, so the equation is:

Degree Fahrenheit = (Degree Celsius + 0)*1.8 + 32
