CADWorx Structure tab: Model panel > Connections > Clip Angle
Place a clip angle connection between two members.
Connection
Load a previously created clip angle connection, or create and save a new clip angle connection. The two members must be perpendicular to each other for a clip angle connection to be placed.
General
Clip Angle Type
Defines whether the connection placed is a double clip angle (both sides of the web of the connected member) or a single clip angle (one side of the web of the connected member).
Clip Angle Length
Displays the length of the clip angle.
Cope Gap Distance
Displays the gap between the end of the member and its intersecting member.
Distance From Top
Displays the clip angle offset from the top of the connecting member.
Clip Angle Weld At
Specifies where the clip angle connection is welded.

Group
Specifies the assigned group. When you select a group from the list, the layer automatically updates to the layer assigned to that group. The groups that display in the Group list come from the Group Manager in the Structure Editor. For more information, see Group Manager in the CADWorx Structure Editor Users Guide.
Layer
Specifies the assigned layer. Layers default to the assigned group. However, you can change a layer as needed. The layers that display in the Layer list come from the Layer Manager in the Structure Editor. For more information, see Layer Manager in the CADWorx Structure Editor Users Guide.
Members: Clip Angle
Shape
Specifies the shape of the clip angle connection. By default, only clip angles are used.
Section Data Table
Specifies the data table for the clip angle connection.
Member Size
Specifies the size of the connection member.
Long Leg Side
Specifies which side (supporting or supported) of the clip angle connection is the Long Leg Side. This field is only available when an unequal leg is selected in the Section Data Table field.
Material
Specifies the material of the clip angle connection member.
Members: Bolt
Row Count
Enter the number of bolt hole rows.
Row Spacing
Enter the distance between the bolt hole rows. The Row Count and the Row Spacing is centered on the plate.
Column Count
Enter the number of bolt hole columns.
Column Spacing
Enter the distance between the bolt hole columns. The Column Count and the Column Spacing is centered on the plate.

X Offset
Specifies the X-axis offset for the bolt holes. Bolt holes placed at zero offset are at the end plate center.
Y Offset
Specifies the Y-axis offset for the bolt holes. Bolt holes placed at zero offset are at the end plate center.
Bolt Type
Specify the bolt type used in the clip angle connection. By default, only Straight Bolts are used.
Bolt Data Table
Specify the data table for the clip angle connection bolts.
Bolt Size
Specify the size of the bolts.
Bolt Material
Specify the bolt material.

Long Description
Defines the long description for the connection.
Short Description
Defines the short description for the connection.
Part Number
Specifies the part number for the connection.
Tag
Defines the tag description of the connection.
Place by
Select Insert Single or Insert Multiple. Single places clip angle connections one at a time. Multiple allows you to place connections at several points where the selected members meet.
