Select multiple objects in the 3D model, then double-click

Command line: GCEDITSTR

Edits multiple shapes, components, or assemblies of different types in your 3D model. The palette that displays depends on your selection. If you select members with different types, the Modify Shapes palette displays. If you select components with different types such as stairs, handrails, and members, the Global Edit palette displays. The Global Edit palette displays all matching properties for differing component, assembly, or object items that you have selected.

Edit multiple objects in a 3D model

  1. Select multiple components in your 3D model, then double-click in the space.

You can also type GCEDITSTR in the command line.

A palette displays based on your selection.

  2. Make changes as required, and then click Apply. Depending on the palette that displays you might have to click Apply To, or OK as your update option.

The software updates the data of the selected objects in the 3D model.

Blank field properties update globally across all selected objects. For example, select a 6'x3' wall, and a 3'x3' wall, and double-click. The Modify Walls palette displays with the Wall Height field blank. Update the Wall Height to 7', and click Apply. Both the 6'x3' wall, and the 3'x3' wall change to 7'x3' walls.
