Creating a chamfer symbol requires geometry for both the part to be chamfered and the opposite connected part.

In this example, a single-sided offset face chamfer is created.

  1. Click Tools > Layers to display the Layer toolbar.

  2. Click Change Layer .

  3. On the dialog box, select the Inputs layer, and click OK.

  4. Sketch a line to represent the offset face of the opposite part, and sketch two lines to represent the edge and offset face of the part.

  5. Lock all bounding part geometry using Lock .

    • Do not connect the lines.

    • Do not use horizontal and vertical constraints. These constraints will keep the chamfer from adjusting properly.
