Tools > Assembly Arrangements > Synchronize Hierarchy allows you to perform a bidirectional synchronization of unassigned parts in symmetrically related blocks and assemblies. Using a select set of symmetrically related assemblies or leaf level blocks, the command locates parts that have a symmetrical counterpart still awaiting manual assignment. When located, these unassigned parts are moved from the Unassigned Parts folder to the symmetrically related assembly.

  • Parts that have a symmetrical counterpart with an assignment different than the Unprocessed Parts folder are not reassigned by this synchronization mechanism. No master-slave behavior exists.

  • Synchronize Hierarchy does not synchronize block structure. You must manually ensure that leaf block definitions are symmetrical. If the two assemblies/blocks are not symmetrically defined, the software searches for unassigned symmetric parts and creates assemblies if there are symmetric parts to assign. In the following illustration, note that the block structure in B01 is not copied into B02 when synchronization process is attempted:
