对于 Bar Type, 点击Check "Standard" Bars， 弹出Bar Selection对话框，然后选择扁钢尺寸，并为 Axial Thickness和 Radial Width输入值。扁钢类型的加强圈具有简单的矩形截面，软件可以根据加强圈的宽度和厚度计算加强圈属性。大多数加强圈是扁钢类型的。
软件定义了一个默认厚度为0.375英寸或通过 Bar thickness to use when designing new rings定义，在 Equipment Installation and Miscellaneous Options Dialog Box 中的Load Cases 选项卡里.
对于Section Type,在Choose a Section选择一个标准的型钢截面或点击Section Calculator 创建一个自定义型钢截面。该部分需要注意以下几点: Moment of Inertia, Cross Sectional Area, 和Distance to Ring Centroid。软件包含标准型钢截面的这些数值。用户自定义截面，必须参考“AISC钢结构手册”手动输入这些值。
