You can select what mode you want to use from the j5 sign in screen. To sign in using your chosen mode:

Select Settings at the bottom of the screen.

Choose the mode you want:

Select Enter offline mode to sign in offline. The sign in button says Sign in offline.

Select Leave offline mode to sign in online. The sign in button says Sign in.

Enter your username and password.

Select Sign in or Sign in offline respectively.
You can only sign in offline if you were the last person signed in on the device.
