j5 version 26 (2018) requires MS ODBC Driver version 17.3.1.1 and doesn't support future versions.

j5 version 28 (2019) requires MS ODBC Driver version 17 (minimum patch version is 17.3.1.1).

You are prompted to install the required MS ODBC Driver during j5 Setup. It's installed automatically when you give j5 Setup permission to process with the installation.
