The Advanced schedule type allows you to configure schedules that repeat on particular days of the week, month, or year. For example, on the first Monday of the month, or quarterly on the 5th of the month.

FRAMEWORK - advanced schedule

To create an Advanced schedule:

  1. Select Advanced from the Schedule Type option list.

  2. Select the yearly repeat pattern from the Yearly Repeat option list.

    • Every Year - Every year is included in the pattern.

    • Selected Years - Only certain years are included in the pattern. A Years box appears when this option is selected. Enter the years that you want included in this box. This should be a comma-separated list in the format YYYY.

  3. Select the monthly repeat pattern from the Monthly Repeat option list.

    • Every Month - Every month is included in the pattern.

    • Selected Months - Only certain months are included in the pattern. A Months box appears when this option is selected. Enter the months that you want included in this box. The should be a comma-separated list with the months represented as integers (for example, January = 1).

  4. Select the daily repeat pattern from the Daily Repeat option list.

    • Selected Dates - Only certain days of the month are included in the pattern. Enter the days that you want included in the Dates box. This should be a comma-separated list of integers.

To better accommodate the variation in the number of days in each month, the entered date range should be 1-28. In order to select the last day of the month, the second last day of the month and the third last day of the month, make use of -1, -2 and -3 respectively.

      • Last day = -1

      • Second last day = -2

      • Third last day = -3

    • Selected Days of the Week - The pattern is set according to the days of the week. Select the weeks and days you want from the Week of the Month and Day of the Week multi-select boxes.

  5. The Time (hh:mm) box determines the exact time of day the schedule occurs on the above selected days.

The Time (hh:mm) setting is different to the Start Time setting.

    • The Time (hh:mm) setting determines the exact time the events governed by this schedule will occur.

    • The Start Time settings determines when this schedule starts being active. No events will occur before this date and time has past.

  6. Select Save.

Advanced schedule and DST

If you are in a DST (Daylight Saving Time) time zone:

Select the applicable option from the the Nonexistent Times option list. The selected option controls what happens to the scheduled events that fall on a nonexistent time on the days the times are shifted.

For example, the time shift in the United States happens at 2am. On the shift forward day, the 2am hour doesn't exist (1:59am to 3am). If you have an event scheduled for 2am (for example), select one of the following options from the Nonexistent Times option list:

  • Skip Nonexistent Times - This event isn't added to the schedule. The event is skipped.

  • Choose Earlier Time - The 2am event is shifted to 1am. All proceeding events happen in their normal time slots.

  • Choose Later Time - The 2am event is shifted to 3am. All proceeding events happen in their normal time slots.
