You can add relevant documents and images to an entry using attachment fields. File size and type restrictions can be implemented for a specific j5 system. If virus scanning has been enabled for your j5 system, the files are scanned as they are attached and infected files are blocked.

To add an attachment to an IndustraForm:

  • Drag the file into the Drop files here box, or

  • Select [...] on the right of the Drop files here box and browse to the file you want.

  • You can't attach files that are bigger than 100MB.

  • If your j5 System has virus scanning enabled, files with viruses aren't uploaded. Additionally, prohibited file types (exe, dll, and files with no extensions) aren't uploaded.

In the image above, the temperature-gauge.exe file hasn't been uploaded because .exe file types have been black listed. By default, the following files are white listed: xlsx, yml, pdf, docx, png, and txt.

For the logbook attachment field:

To add an attachment to an entry:

  1. In add or edit mode, select the Add an attachment... link.

  2. Select Browse... and then navigate to the location of the file you want to attach. When the chosen file has been selected and opened, the file is immediately saved and added to the entry.

  3. To remove an attachment, select Delete next to the attachment name then confirm deletion in the dialog box.

When in editing mode, attachments are immediately added or removed from the database. This means that if you cancel the edit action, the attachment will remain added or removed.
