A continuous tag allows the configuration of limits. When these limits are exceeded, they trigger an event. Users are able to configure three optional ranges in the Tag Watch List, namely the Target High/Low, Standard High/Low, and Critical High/Low.

14em_limits

  • Target High/Low - The range the tag’s value is intended to remain within.

  • Standard High/Low - If a tag’s value reaches this point, the tag is in an error condition.

  • Critical High/Low - If a tag’s value reaches this point, a more serious error has occurred.

If the tag value exceeds the Target, Standard, or Critical limits, an event is triggered in the j5 Event Manager subject to the Deadband setting.

The Target range only records an event when the tag's value exceeds the Target limits, but the Standard and Critical limits record an event when the tag's value matches the set limits.
