This provides a way to configure whether tag values are read for items in the Tag Watch List during j5 startup. In some scenarios, such as fail-over testing, a restart of j5 may result in many new tag watch list events being created, and consequently, many operations logbook entries written.
If this isn't something you want, edit the Skip datasource readings during startup option and select Yes. This stops the events from being created during the event registration of each tag. Subsequent events will continue as normal. Setting this option to No will make no change to the standard functionality. If you change this setting, the change takes immediately effect and is applied during the next j5 restart, and any subsequent restarts.
