Step 3: Update Module Fields and Layout - j5 - 28.0 - Administration & Configuration - Hexagon

In this section, we will describe how to add a BPMNACTIONS field, as well as how to edit the Form Layout, and Grid Layout.

Add new Fields

Once the Module and Logbook Form have been created, add a new field of input type "BPMNACTIONS" to the Logbook Form. The BPMNACTIONS input type is used by j5 to connect to BPMN workflows and is also the location in the form Logbook From where all the generated inputs from the BPMN workflow will display (e.g. text prompts and action buttons).

Tutorial Example:

1. Under the Config tab, navigate to Fields (under environmental_incidents Logbook Form).

   

2. Add/modify the following fields:

   1. logdatetime

      1. Label: Report Date

   2. bpmn_field

      1. Input type: BPMNACTIONS

      2. Label: Report Workflow

   3. report_message

      1. Input type: TEXT

      2. Label: Report Message

      3. Required Value: Yes

   4. approved_by

      1. Input type: TEXT

      2. Tag: readonly

      3. Label: Approved By

   5. approved_on

      1. Input type: DATETIME

      2. Tag: readonly

      3. Label: Approved On

   6. approved_flag

      1. Input type: SELECT

      2. Default value: New

      3. Tag: readonly

      4. Label: Status

   

3. Click Save

4. Navigate to approved_flag Options (which will now appear under Fields), and add the following options:

   1. New

   2. Approved

   

5. Click Save

Update the Form Layout

Once you have created the BPMNACTIONS field, update the Form Layout with a label and field as required.

The BPMNACTIONS field can be shown in the Form Layout but should not be included in the Grid Layout.

Tutorial Example: Update the Form Layout as shown below and save the file.

Update the Grid Layout

Once you have created the BPMNACTIONS field, and updated the Form Layout, update the Grid Layout with a label and field as required.

The BPMNACTIONS field cannot be shown to the Grid Layout. If it is added to this layout, then the field will be ignored by the j5 system. The BPMNACTIONS field can only be shown in the Form Layout.

Tutorial Example: Update the Grid Layout as shown below and save the file.
