  1. Select one or more elements to pattern.

  2. On the Change toolbar, click Rectangular Pattern .

  3. To define a rectangular area for the pattern, click Pattern Options on the ribbon.

  4. On the Rectangular Pattern Options dialog box, select Fit to Rectangle.

    Use the ribbon boxes and the Rectangular Pattern Options dialog box to define other characteristics of the pattern, such as the number of pattern members and rows.

  5. On the drawing sheet, click to identify one corner of the pattern and click to identify the opposite corner of the pattern.

  6. To finish creating the pattern, click Finish on the ribbon.

If you do not like the results of the pattern, you can use the Undo command.
