Creates a geometric construction point using a cross-section key point as reference. The point can then be used to parametrically constrain sketched geometry. The geometry adjusts to modifications to the profile, the leaf plate system, or the geometric construction point.

  • After an object is created using a geometric construction point, the point can be selected in a graphic view or the Workspace Explorer of the 3D environment. The point can then be modified by changing options on the ribbon. For more information, see Geometric Constructions in the Molded Forms User's Guide.

  • The supporting plate system has a given thickness, it can be split and the thickness can be changed on one on the leaf plates system. In this case, if the intersecting (sketching) plane also intersects the leaf plate system, the simulated profile part cross-section (in black and supporting the points) moves accordingly, therefore the red point also moves.

Point at Offset from Keypoint Ribbon

Select Profile Part

Selects geometry for a profile cross-section.

You must add the needed profile to Sketch 2D using Add Intersecting Item or Add Projection Item in the parent command.

Select Key Point

Specifies a key point to use as reference. Select the key point in the graphic view, or select a key point number in Select Profile Key Point by Index.

Select Profile Key Point by Index

Specifies a key point by index number. Every cross-section has 27 key points, although some are combined for cross-sections with simple geometry. For more information, see Key Points.

Offset U

Specifies the offset of the geometric construction point from the key point along the local u axis of the cross-section.

Offset V

Specifies the offset of the geometric construction point from the key point along the local v axis of the cross-section.

Finish

Creates the geometric construction point.

ICON Remove Delete

Deletes the geometric construction point.
