  1. In the SmartSketch Drawing Editor parent command, select one or more profile stiffeners or members that intersect the sketching plane using the Add Intersecting Item or Add Projection Item options.

  2. If the StructTopology toolbar is not visible, click Tools > Toolbars, select StructTopology, and click OK.

  3. Click Point at Offset from Keypoint .

The Point at Offset from Keypoint toolbar appears.

  4. Select a profile cross-section.

Key points for the cross-section appear on the part geometry.

  5. Select a key point.

  6. Type u and v values to offset the new point from the offset point.

  7. Click Finish.

The new point is created. Driven dimensions also appear.

  8. If additional points are needed, click Point at Offset from Keypoint again, and repeat the previous steps.

  9. Draw the needed geometry using the geometric construction points as constraints. You can also use other constraints, such as dimensions, as needed.

  10. Click Finish (in the top left corner of the 2D window) to close the 2D environment and return to the SmartSketch Drawing Editor parent command.

A new geometric construction point is displayed in the 3D graphic view. This point can be used like other geometric construction.

After creating an object, such as a plate system, bracket, or opening, using geometric construction points, you can select a point directly in the 3D graphic view or Workspace Explorer and edit it. A separate ribbon displays for the point. For more information, see Geometric Construction Ribbon in Geometric Constructions in the Molded Forms User's Guide.
