Select File > New Command.The New
command is also available from the toolbar.
If a plant specification file is already open, you are prompted to save it before
creating the new file. Be sure to save it in the correct reference data location for
the plant to which it applies.

In the Options Dialog, choose the default temperature and thickness units for this plant file, and select OK.

The default temperature and thickness units selected in the Options Dialog apply to insulation properties viewed in the Insulation Specification Manager only; the units of those properties displayed in SmartPlant P&ID drawings are determined by the values selected for Temperature and Thickness in the Options Manager Formats table.

After creating a new plant specification file, you can navigate in the Tree view and create new insulation specifications. See Create a New Insulation Specification.
