  1. Insert the SmartPlant P&ID DVD into the drive. If the installation does not start automatically, double-click the product ..._setup.exe file in the main folder.

  2. On the Welcome page, click the Additional Software link.

  3. On the Additional Software page, click SmartPlant P&ID Reference Data.

  4. On the SmartPlant P&ID Reference Data Setup Wizard Welcome page, click Start Setup to start the reference data setup wizard.

  5. On the Details and Features page, under Select Features to Install, make sure that the SmartPlant P&ID Reference Data check box is selected.

  6. Click the SmartPlant P&ID Reference Data header text to display more options.

  7. In the Install Path field, accept the default installation path or if required, specify a different path.

  8. Under Optional Features, select or clear the check boxes for the items as required and then click Next.

  9. On the License Agreement page, select your country or region from the list to view the license agreement in your language and then select the I agree to the license agreement and conditions check box.

  10. Click Install.

  11. On completion of the installation, if you want to open the Readme file, select View Readme.

  12. Click Finish to close the installation wizard.

  13. After installation, do the following:

    1. Share the folder that contains the reference data.

    2. Grant all users Read permission to this share. Write permission to the share is required to make changes to the symbols, rules, templates, and other reference data.

      We recommend that you make a copy of the reference data and store it with your plant files. This will help you with future service pack installations, data recovery, and so forth.
