The retired SmartPlant Markup Plus Server must be installed on servers where the SmartPlant Foundation Server and the Remote Services components are installed. If these components are installed on separate servers, the retired SmartPlant Markup Plus Server is required on both.

  • You can install SmartPlant Markup Plus Server in silent mode, which requires no user interaction as the software installs. For more information, see Install SmartPlant Markup Plus Server in Silent Mode.

  • When configuring a SmartPlant Foundation site for Web Client, you can specify any installation of a supported version of SmartPlant Markup Plus Server using the BravaServer property in SmartPlant Foundation Server Manager. For more information, see Site Settings node properties.

  1.  Log on as an administrator.

  2. Click Start > Control Panel > System and Security > Action Center, and click Change User Account Control settings.

  3. Turn UAC off by moving the slider to Never notify, and then click OK.

UAC can be returned to its previous setting when installation is complete.

  4. Run SPM_setup.exe setup, provided on the SmartPlant Markup Plus installation media.

  5. Click Start Setup in the Welcome window.

  6. Enter the serial number, user name, and company.

  7. Click SmartPlant Markup Plus Server under Select Installation Mode.

  8. Enter the user name, password, URL prefix, host name, and port.

    • The user name you enter should be a domain user with administrative rights on the computer.

    • If configuring SmartPlant Markup Plus Server to use secure connections (SSL), you must set the URL prefix to https and enter the fully qualified domain name for the host name (for example, ServerName.DomainName.com).

  9. In the Tomcat Version box, enter a version of Apache Tomcat you want to use.

Apache Tomcat must be configured with 64-bit Java Runtime Environment.

  10. Enter the install path to the folder where the software is to be installed.

  11. Review your setup information, and click Next if everything is correct.

  12. Select your country or region from the Country or Region list in the License Agreement window.

  13. Review the licensing agreement and click I agree to the license agreement and conditions.

  14. Click Install, and then click Finish.
