Sets the types of files that will be opened with SmartPlant Markup Plus as the default application. When you clear a box, the default application returns to what it was before it was assigned to SmartPlant Markup Plus.

From this dialog box, you can also associate types of files with external applications for viewing or specify the SmartPlant Markup Plus viewer that will be used to display a type of file. Either by right-clicking on a type of file or by clicking the Set Viewer button, you can associate types of files with specific SmartPlant Markup Plus viewers or external software applications.

Select the file types to associate with SmartPlant Markup Plus - By clicking in the box by the file type, select the types of files that should be opened with the SmartPlant Markup Plus application by default. Types of files are organized into ten categories. Placing a check mark in front of the category selects all the items available under that category.

Associate All - Places check marks by all types of files available in the list, indicating that all should be able to be viewed in SmartPlant Markup Plus.

Dissociate All - Removes all check marks from items in the file types list.

Set Viewer - Opens the Set Viewer dialog box, where you can select a SmartPlant Markup Plus viewer or external application with which to open a selected file type. This button is available only when you have selected a file type from the hierarchy tree.

Reset Viewer - Changes the assigned viewer for a file type back to its default application.

User-defined file types - If you would like to assign any other types of files to be opened with SmartPlant Markup Plus, enter the file extensions in this field. Separate multiple items listed here with semicolons (;).

Add - Moves any new file types listed in the User-defined file types field to the User-defined file types category in the hierarchy tree.

  • File types you have associated with an external application or a specific SmartPlant Viewer appear in bold type in the hierarchical tree.

  • Category names are displayed in bold type when files types in that category are associated with SmartPlant Markup Plus or any other external viewer.

  • You can quickly associate a type of file with a specific SmartPlant Markup Plus viewer or an external application by selecting the file type and right-clicking to access the Program Association Shortcut Menu (File Type Association Dialog Box).
