When connected to projects, you can claim, unclaim, move and delete objects while publishing. For testing, you can use the SmartPlant Test Tool using test data sheets.

New Objects

You can publish an object as new if the object (UID) exists only in Item sheet.

By default the test data sheet consists of new sample objects.

To test new objects:

  1. Open any test file that is supplied to you.

  2. In the Item sheet, add the UID, Name and Description in their respective columns.

Claim Objects

You can claim object from the As-Built to the project while publishing. To perform this, the objects that are in Item sheet must be in the Claims and the As-Built sheet of the excel document

To test claim objects:

  1. Open any test file that is supplied to you.

  2. In the Claim sheet, add the UID, Name and Description in their respective columns.

The UID that you want to claim must be in the Items and the As-Built sheet.

After publishing the document to the selected project, the claim instructions are created in the tombstone file and the claimed object are viewed in the project scope.

Unclaim Objects

You can unclaim a claimed object that is published to a project. To unclaim, the object must be removed from the Item and Claim sheet.

The UID that you want to unclaim must be in the As-Built sheet.

To test unclaim objects:

  1. Open previously published test file.

  2. The UID’s that you want to unclaim remove from Item sheet and Claim sheet.

Move Objects

The objects in a document that are published to a project must be in the move sheet if they are to be moved. if they are to be moved

To test moved objects:

  1. Open the previously published test file

  2. From the Item sheet, cut a UID that you want to move and then paste it in the Moved sheet

Delete

The objects that are not in the Item and Moved sheet are considered as deleted objects.
