To run SmartPlant Test Tool in file-only mode, which does not require SmartPlant Foundation, create an environment variable called EFCommonUIFileMode with the following value: 1.

In the SmartPlant Test Tool, click SmartPlant > Publish to display the Select Plant or Project dialog box containing a list of the plants you registered.

Click a plant in the table.
If you registered a tool plant in file-only mode, the SmartPlant Foundation plants column is empty.

Click OK to display the Select Documents dialog box.

Select one or more documents in the list box.
To select more documents to publish later, click the Engineering Tool button to display the Select Documents dialog box for the SmartPlant Test Tool and select one or more documents to be published.

Click OK.

At the bottom of the Selected Documents box, type the path to the folder in which to publish the XML files.

Select a workflow or revision scheme for each document, if needed.

Click OK. A confirmation dialog box appears.
