SmartPlant Foundation creates projects in SmartPlant Foundation plants.  SmartPlant Foundation also creates a special Work Breakdown Structure (WBS) document that tells which projects exist in a SmartPlant Foundation plant.  A WBS document is also called a Project List document.  An integrated tool, such as Smart P&ID or the SmartPlant Test Tool, retrieves the WBS document and interprets its contents to learn which projects exist in a SmartPlant Foundation plant.  The projects in the SmartPlant Foundation plant become the projects in the tool plants registered to the SmartPlant Foundation plant.  An integrated tool does not add or delete projects; SmartPlant Foundation does.  A tool keeps its projects matching the projects in SmartPlant Foundation by retrieving a WBS document whenever SmartPlant Foundation changes the project list in some way.

If you retrieve a WBS document, the SmartPlant Test Tool adds rows to the Select Plant or Project dialog box table for the projects in the WBS document.  If the SmartPlant Foundation Projects cell in a row is blank, that row represents a plant.  If the SmartPlant Foundation Projects cell in a row contains a name, that row represents a project with that name.

The SmartPlant Test Tool does not yet delete a project from its list if the project no longer exists in the WBS document.
