This interface supports SmartPlant Foundation revisioning, typically accessed by a Revise command on the publishing tool’s menu. Before SmartPlant Client version 3.7, tool-published documents were revised during the publish operation. A publishing tool now has the option either to supply unmanaged revision numbers during the publish transaction through its implementation of ISPAdapterGetRevision or to use SmartPlant Foundation revisioning schemes. A tool that supports tool revisioning returns True when SP Client passes ToolRevisions to the tool’s implementation of SupportsFeature. A tool that supports SPF revisioning returns True when SP Client passes SPFRevisions to the tool’s implementation of SupportsFeature.
The separation of revise from publish requires the tool to support a separate revisioning operation to revise documents and to save revisions values for each document.
