Allows you to select tool XML files as the source for documents and then publish to SmartPlant Foundation.

Revise and Publish Dialog Box

Data File, Instruction File, View File and Reference File - Browse to the XML files to publish.

Data File XML file is mandatory, make sure you select a valid file to publish.

Publish Type

  • Full - Indicates that a complete publish operation is selected.

  • Delta - Indicates that only changes in the document must be published.

Document Class - Displays class definitions that describe published data for each document type that can be published.

Component Schema - Displays a subdivision of the complete SmartPlant schema that contains the set of class definitions that are used within a specific domain or application area.

Document Type - Allows you yo select the type of document you want to revise.

Workflow - Allows you to select a workflow with which to publish documents.

Revision Scheme - Allows you to assign revision schemes available from SmartPlant Foundation.

Revision - Allows you to set the Major and Minor revisions for a document. Based on selected Revision Scheme, the Major and the Minor revisions are automatically filled.

  1. Click SmartPlant > Revise and Publish.

  2. To select Data File, Instruction File, View File, and Reference File, click Browse displayed next to each option, and select the respective XML file.

    Based on the Data File selected, the Component Schema, Document Class, and Document Type boxes are automatically filled.

  3. Select Full or Delta publish options.

    Use Delta publish if only changes in the document need to be published, though additional full publishes are allowed.

  4. Click Get next to the Workflow option to list the available work flows from SmartPlant Foundation and select a workflow from the list.

  5. Click Get next to the Revision Scheme option to list the available revision schemes from SmartPlant Foundation and select a revision scheme from the list. The Major and Minor options are automatically filled based on the Revision Scheme selected.

    You can also type Major and Minor revisions. Click Validate to ensure that you have entered a valid revisions based on the selected Revision Scheme.

  6. Click OK to publish. A confirmation dialog box appears to report success or failure.
