Due to changes in the SmartPlant Instrumentation Data Dictionary, certain attributes content now appears differently in converted EDEs (the old browsers prior to 2016). The table shows some but not all of the differences:
Attribute Name |
Old Content (browser) |
New Content (EDE) |
Instrument Status |
Description |
Status Name + Description |
Loop Function |
Description |
Name |
Unit Name |
Shows path (Plant\Area\Unit) |
Unit name only |
Claimed for |
Project Name of the Claimed Item |
No longer relevant for 2016. Doesn’t exist. |
In addition to these content changes Plant Hierarchy attributes have been changed:
-
Plant = Highest Plant Group
-
Area = Intermediate Plant Group
-
Unit = Lowest Plant Group
In order to differentiate between Plant and Reference items, use the attribute Plant/Reference xxx (this was previously the default flag attribute). For example, Plant/Reference Panel, Plant/Reference Cable, and so forth.
For the Instrument Item Type:
-
The Panel name and Strip name properties replace the Junction Box Pre-Assignment.
-
Selecting Specification related fields from an Instrument item in a query or EDE enforces the selection of governing cases in the retrieved rows.
-
Includes Calibration setting properties.
-
Selecting the Loop Document Number (Name) property, filters the number of returned rows to the first sheet loop document number.
-
Concentration properties are available for Analyzer Component tag class.
-
Instrument Type (pick list) is a concatenation of the name, description, and process function.
-
Instrument Criticality (pick list) is a concatenation of the Criticality name and description.
-
Instrument Status (pick list) is a concatenation of the Status name and description.
Process Data
Process Data is now segregated to its different types as follows:
-
Process Data – (Shared)
-
Process Data – Analyzer
-
Process Data – Control Valve
-
Process Data – Flow
-
Process Data – Level
-
Process Data – Pressure
-
Process Data – Relief Valve
-
Process Data – Temperature
-
Process Data – Unclassified
Use the Query Builder to join between the instrument, its shared process data, and the rest of the process data classes.
